Stemless Evening Primrose
(Oenothera tribola)

On the drive out of Big Bend N.P. to Marathon Texas, the highway was lined with bright yellow flowers. This blanket of yellow flowers was a stark contrast to the desert grazing land that surrounded it. Those flowers were the Stemless Evening Primrose in full bloom. The photo was made in April 2001 near Marathon, TX.
