Pink Texas Bluebonnet
(Lupinus texana)

The blue bonnet also occurs occasionally with white or pink blossums. I'm not sure if this is a natural mutation or has been hybridized and seeded. I have only seen them on the highways in Texas, so I'm guessing that TX-DOT may have seeded some at some point. Whatever, they make a beautiful contrast in a field of bluebonnets, adding a little sprinkle of pink and white as you see here.
