Indian Blanket
(Gallardia pulchella)

Indian blanket is another frequent roadside flower in Texas, especially in the spring. This variety is an annual that reseeds itself, and probably much of it was started by the TX-DOT under the Lady Bird Johnson wildflower programs. It is a beautiful flower as you can see here, and generally grows in patches so there are usually several around when they are seen.
