| I shot
this sunrise during my May 2001 trip to New Zealand. We stayed
in Napier, a beautiful little town on the east coast of the north
island for a couple of days. Napier is a very interesting town,
having been destroyed by a major earthquake in the 1920's. The
town was rebuilt with some fabulous art deco period architecture.
I got up early to shoot architectural shots in the glow of the
morning "golden" hour. As I was waiting I walked out on the beach
to catch the sunrise and got this cool shot of the high cloud formations
lit by the rising sun.
(BTW, I also got some great architectural shots that I'll
post here someday.)
