House Finch
(Carpodacus mexicanas)

Another of the frequent visotrs to my backyard bird feeding station is the house finch. There are usually 2 or 3 pairs every season. They love sunflower seeds and thistle. They are pretty quick so getting them sit still for a portrait is not easy. This guy was not around long!
