This great blue heron "portrait" was taken beside a drainage ditch on the east side of the auto loop. This heron had just eaten a mouse. Until he finished it he stayed very well hidden behind the reeds. I caught glimpses of him with the mouse tail hanging out of his mouth, but could never get a shot. He did sit nicely for his portrait after the mouse meal.
