Greenwing Teal
(Annas carolinensis)

I only saw one greenwing teal during both days I was at Bosque. In talking to the naturalists, they said they usually hang out in a different pond. I saw this guy hanging out with a group of northern pintails. He didn't stay long--I barely got this picture in before he took wing. I was lucky to get him. He really is a beautiful duck.
