Common Egret
(Casmeródius álbus)

After some fairly heavy rains in the spring of 2001, I happened to be driving down a farm road east of Austin and saw this egret feeding in a flooded pasture. Using my car as a blind I was able to shoot quite a few good shots with my big lens without this big bird being the least bit concerned.

Photo taken in March of 2001 just east of Austin Texas.

Photo Details: Nikon N90s, Sigma 800AF f 5.6, f8@250, Fuji ProviaF, Groofwin pod with Kirk King Cobra head, no flash.
