Collared Peccary "Javelina"

This is another of my shots from my trip to Aransas NWR to take pictures of shorebirds and waterfowl and hopefully to catch a glimpse of the whooping cranes. The only bird I saw to photograph all day was a gallinule, and I got a few alligators and some javelina shots. This particular peccary was part of a small group that was grazing along the roadside. I stalked up fairly close (30 feet) and got this headshot with a 500 mm lens.
